Rahat Scheme by Punjab Government Offices, Toll Free Helpline Numbers, Customer Support- To reduce lump sum on retails, THE STATE GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB launched Punjab Small Traders ‘RAHAT SCHEME’, 2014. It is a comprehensive scheme which will help the beneficiaries run their business activities without many hassles. A very significant feature of this scheme is that traders would not have to maintain account books, stock register etc.

This scheme is unveiled by Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab. This scheme has been launched for 74 cities and town in Punjab in Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier 3 categories. A new amendment in January 2015 brings the ‘one time annual VAT payment scheme’ for traders in 71 towns.

• ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

➢ He/she has to be a retailer

➢ The person who doesn’t conduct any business in any corporation or Class-1 municipal town of the state

➢ His/her taxable turnover (except the turnover of the goods covered under single stage taxation) is less than ₹ 1 crore in a financial year

➢ He/she doesn’t conduct any inter-state sale/purchase.

5.	Rs. 75 Lakhs – Rs. 1 Crore	20000 /-

• BENEFITS OF THE SCHEME:

➢ Any person who has opted for tax levy under this scheme will not be taken up for assessment without the permission of Exercise and Taxation Commissioner.

➢ The Business office of any person, who has opted for this scheme, will not be inspected without the prior permission of Exercise and Taxation Commissioner. If it is inspected without the permission, then the dealer can lodge a legal complaint.

✓ HOW TO APPLY:
